QSL Policy

In plain words, we are not able to send a QSL card for each contact. But all the QSL cards are replied by the same way of request. Contest contacts are also treated as regular DX contacts, in terms of QSL’ing. We have a huge offline database of logs and your QSL can be confirmed easily. In future we plan to setup online queries in our web site also.

Thus, our QSL policy can be summarized as: “REPLY ONLY, VIA DIRECT or BUREAU, NO eQSL, NO LOTW”

Via Bureau

The QSL Bureau for all Turkish callsigns with prefixes TA, TB, TC and YM is TRAC with both incoming and outgoing facilities. If your bureau has not outgoing service you may use the postal address of TRAC below:

P.O.Box 73, TR-07002
Murat Pasa, Antalya, Turkey

Depending of your and our bureau performance, a delay of several months or few years is to be expected. TRAC sends to countries immediately after the package weights 1 kgs, otherwise in 6 months periods.

Via Direct

Direct requests are treated as a priority and replied in a few weeks. You should include at least 2 US Dollars or 1 IRC coupon with your QSL card. We are pleased to receive a self addressed envelope (SAE) or an address label with the request. Our postal address for direct QSL’s is:

Nuri Boylu
P.O.Box 976 Pasaport 35214
Izmir, Turkey

If you send your card but it does not meet the requirements above, it will be returned via bureau.

Internet Services

We don’t use any third party internet services such as eQSL, qrz.com and LOTW.

Confirmation Process

We log every contacts in contests and DX activities. Certainly we confirm all requests before replying. We tolerate UTC info and even signal report if the QSO exist in our logbook. In case of variations you may get corrected info from our logbook. If your request is not confirmed at all, this only means we don’t have any record in our logbook. Such cases will be treated deeply to resolve the conflict. However we have right for not replying unconfirmed requests. If the unconfirmed request is direct, you still receive your reply but with an UNCONFIRMED stamp on it.

  • Although we have “REPLY ONLY” policy, we may send QSL cards to very special stations such as rare callsigns, without waiting any request.
  • In case of hand exchange in HAM Fairs etc, confirmation may be bypassed.
  • If we are unsure about contacts, in case of mobile activities or any short sessions, we may bypass the confirmation process and reply the request with correcting our missing record in our logbook.
  • Email requests with an acceptable reason may have priority upon our QSL policies. Fell free to contact us.

SWL Reports

QSL Cards or Reception Reports form Short Wave Listeners are very welcome, and will be treated by the same way. Sender should report at least one QSO of Team Papa and note the callsign of the both parties. Long receptions and separate signal reports will be useful for us. Please include info about your receiver and antenna.

Team Papa QSL Cards

We intent to serve well designed QSL cards with various themes to our contacts.  The first card is designed with a night shot of Izmir; Konak Square and The Clock Tower located at the City center. Photograph is copyrighted by Caglar Tukel, 2007. We are grateful for his permission to use his nice photo at our design. The artwork is studied by TA3CX, Coskun.

Front view

QSL-01-fBack view

The most common size of 14 x 9 cm is used in printing to fit your collection sheets. Front side is cellophane coated and the back side is ink-jet printable. You may be noticed the callsign is not printed on the card, it’s stamped at the “from” field of backside. Although we mostly use TC3P callsign, depending on the activity it may vary. Operators are also not printed on the card and will be included depending on the activity. As a team, this multi purpose approach fascilates us to use the same design in different activities. However we plan to create new designs and publish them in a galery in future.
